The hardest part of writing a children's book isn't learning how. It's the Tuesday afternoon when you're stuck, alone, with nobody to ask.
You've read the craft books. Maybe you've taken a course. And honestly, you probably know more about story than you give yourself credit for.
But knowing and doing are different rooms. The course ends, the notebook closes, and there you are with chapter seven not working and no idea why. So the manuscript goes back in the drawer. Not because your idea was bad. Because you were carrying it alone.
Before I became a full-time author, I spent nearly twenty years as a therapist and healer, and I'll tell you what I learned in both careers: people don't change from information. They change from support, structure, and someone in the room who's been where they're going.
That's what KidLit Studio is. Not another course. A studio. A place your writing lives, month after month, until the book is done.
Three things, working together
Live Group Coaching
Once a month we get on a call and you bring your actual work. The chapter that isn't landing. The opening you've rewritten five times. The blurb you can't crack. We work on it together, live.
And every call is recorded and added to the growing coaching archive, so nothing is ever missed and every past breakthrough is yours to revisit.
Masterclasses
Deep dives into the craft topics that matter most: Plotting, the Character Transformation Line, the Three Growth Levels, with more added as the Studio grows.
These are the sit-down-with-a-notebook sessions. Watch them when a topic is exactly what your book needs that week.
Interactive Workspaces
Six guided thinking spaces that walk you through your own story using the same questions I ask when I coach. You type, you think, you decide. Your work saves as you go and prints beautifully when you're done.
They don't write a word for you. That's the point.
Six spaces. One for every stage of your book.
The Author Dashboard
Where you start. A calm space to get honest about what success actually looks like for you, so every writing decision after this one has a direction.
The Transformation Line Mapper
For any format you write in. Uncover what your story is really about underneath the plot: the false belief your character starts with, and the truth they earn by the end.
The 14-Beat Planner
For chapter books and middle grade. Plan your whole story beat by beat, with built-in guidance at every step and a diagnostic that shows you where the structure is strong and where it's soft.
The Spread-by-Spread Picture Book Planner
For writers working in 32 pages. Map every spread, choose your page-turn strategy, watch your word count live, and print a full roadmap of your book.
The Publishing Launch Kit
When the book is ready for the world. Work through your blurb, your book description, and your launch plan step by step, then assemble polished drafts you can actually use.
Dear Reader
Your reader-email companion. Five complete, ready-to-adapt email campaigns written for children's book authors: ARC team invites, freebie welcomes, launch sequences, review requests, and re-engagement, plus PS lines and newsletter ideas for the weeks you're staring at a blank email.
None of these are AI tools. Nothing here generates content for you. These are guided thinking spaces, because the goal is a writer who thinks like a storyteller, not one who leans on a machine.
A month inside the Studio
- You write, inside the workspaces. Ten minutes or two hours, whatever your life allows. Your progress saves on your device as you go.
- You hit something hard. A sagging middle, a character who won't come alive, a blurb that reads flat. This is normal. This is the work.
- You bring it to the live call. We look at it together, and you leave knowing exactly what to do next. Can't make it live? Send it ahead, then watch your answer in the archive.
- You go deeper when you need to. A masterclass on exactly the thing you're wrestling with, waiting in the library.
The Studio is for you if...
This is your place if
- You're writing, or want to write, picture books, chapter books, or middle grade
- You have wild, wonderful ideas and want the structure to carry them
- You've been stuck alone with a manuscript and you're done being stuck alone
- You want a working author's eyes on your actual pages, every month
- You'd rather build a real writing practice than collect another course
It's probably not, if
- You want software that writes the book for you
- You're looking for one-on-one developmental editing (the coaching is live and group-based)
- You write for adults; everything here is built for children's books
Hi, I'm Elena
I've published 25 children's books across 6 series. My Evie Everyday Witch series has sold over 100,000 copies across its 6 books and won awards along the way, and The Splendid Secrets of 66 Lilly Pilly Lane, the first book in my Faren Chronicles, won an award and sold foreign rights into Russian.
And before any of that, I spent nearly twenty years as a therapist and healer. I ran group meditations, healing circles, and transformational events, and the whole of that working life was really one skill practiced thousands of times: helping a person find the belief that's quietly holding them back, and supporting them as they move through it.
That's why the heart of everything I teach is the Transformation Line, the false belief a character must outgrow before they can win. I spent two decades doing that work with real people. In the Studio, I help you do it for your characters. And honestly, more often than you'd expect, we end up doing a little of it for the writer too.
One more thing, because it's the part that matters most for you. Sixteen of my books sold average numbers, written before anyone taught me structured craft. Seven books, the ones that came after, built my real income. I know both sides of that line personally. The Studio exists so you can cross it faster than I did, with someone beside you the whole way.

Before you decide
Is this a course?
No, and that's deliberate. A course is something you finish. The Studio is something you use. It's the coaching, tools, and support around your actual writing, for as long as your book needs it. If you want the full step-by-step writing method, that's my Picture Book & Middle-Grade Writing Blueprint, and the two work beautifully together. But you don't need the course to get real value from the Studio.
Do I need to have started writing already?
Not at all. The Author Dashboard and the Transformation Line Mapper are built exactly for the before-the-first-word stage. And if you're mid-manuscript, or even finished and heading toward launch, there's a workspace waiting for that stage too. The Studio meets your book wherever it is.
Are the workspaces AI tools?
No. Nothing in the Studio generates content for you, and that's a promise, not a limitation. The workspaces guide your thinking with the same questions I ask in coaching, and every word on the page is yours. Kids are the most honest readers in the world. They deserve a book only you could write.
What if I can't make the live calls?
You'll never miss out. Every call is recorded and added to the archive within the membership, and you can send your question or pages ahead of time so we work on them live even when you're asleep on the other side of the world. Many members use the Studio entirely on replay.
I write picture books. Is this really for me too?
Truly yes. There's a dedicated Spread-by-Spread Picture Book Planner built for the 32-page form, the Transformation Line Mapper works for every format, and picture book manuscripts come to the live calls all the time.
Can I cancel?
Anytime, in two clicks, no questions and no guilt. Stay for a month, get unstuck, and go if that's what your book needed. Although honestly, most people stay, because a book takes months and it's much nicer not to spend them alone.
Your ideas were never the problem.
Writing alone was.
Keep your wild ideas. Bring them to the Studio, and let's give them structure, together.
